一言九鼎(일언구정, yìyánjiǔdǐng)
말 한 마디가 구정(九鼎)만큼 무겁다. 일언이 중천금이다. 어떤 사람의 말이 결정적인 역할을 하다.
구정(九鼎)은 중국 하(夏)나라 우왕(禹王) 때 전국의 아홉 주(州)에서 거두어들인 금으로 만들었다는 솥을 가리키는데, 구주(九州)를 상징하며 주(周)나라 때까지 대대로 천자에게 전해진 보물이었다고 함.
